At Wanderable, we believe travel should be for everyone. Whether it’s wheeling down a boardwalk or navigating cobblestone streets with care and confidence, our travel hosts are the heart of making those journeys possible. And when it comes to passion and experience, few embody that more than our very own host, Robin.
This summer, Robin took a couple of months to reconnect with her roots and of course, she did it all with her eye for accessible travel. Her trip spanned several states, packed with sweet family moments, scenic stops, and a sharp eye for inclusive features that make or break a travel experience. And now? She’s more inspired than ever to help you explore these incredible places, too.

Robin kicked off her journey in Georgia, visiting her sister and extended family. There’s something magical about returning to place you called home. Robin stopped by hers to reminisce and soak in old memories. From porches to pine trees, it was a full-circle moment.
A highlight of her Georgia stop was a trip to Stone Mountain Park, where the scenic views and rich Civil War history offered plenty to explore. The park’s accessible gondola made it easy to enjoy the stunning summit view, and accessible trails and restrooms ensured everyone could be part of the adventure.
Film lovers would have swooned at her next stop: the filming location of the Southern classic “Fried Green Tomatoes” in Juliette, Georgia. The quaint town hasn’t changed much, and yes, the Whistle Stop Café is still serving up nostalgia (and some great food). Robin noted that while parts of the location have that charmingly rustic feel, it’s still manageable for most travelers with mobility needs, and she’s full of tips for navigating it comfortably.

Next up: Alabama. Robin spent time in her hometown, catching up with old friends and family. The highlight? A gorgeous day at the lake. Smooth paths, accessible picnic areas, and that unbeatable Southern sunshine made it the perfect day to unwind.
She reflected on how relaxing, outdoor days like these are exactly the kind of experience she loves to help Wanderable travelers enjoy. Whether you’re looking to kayak, enjoy a gentle stroll near the water, or simply sit back and enjoy nature’s soundtrack, she knows the best places to do it and how to do it comfortably.
“Georgia has so many hidden gems,” Robin shared. “And I’d love nothing more than to guide a traveler through the places I love—from the big sights to the quiet family moments.”

Of course, no trip is complete without a little city excitement. In Washington, DC, Robin met up with an old friend and took in the cultural richness of the Smithsonian Museums and the National Mall. She was especially impressed by the level of accessibility: elevators in every building, tactile exhibits for the visually impaired, and staff who were well-trained and incredibly helpful.
“I’ve always loved how accessible the Smithsonian is,” Robin said. “It’s a place where everyone can learn, explore, and feel included.”
She’s already dreaming up future itineraries that include accessible city tours, visits to the Capitol, and quiet garden moments at the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden.
Robin isn’t just a seasoned traveler, she’s a lifelong advocate for making travel accessible, joyful, and empowering for all. With years of experience guiding people of all abilities, she knows how to adapt trips to suit physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
Whether you’re dreaming of the gentle sway of a pontoon boat in Alabama, wandering through history in Georgia, or standing under the towering monuments of DC, Robin is ready to make it happen, with accessibility always top of mind.
“No two travelers are the same, and that’s the beauty of this job,” Robin shared. “I get to help people discover that their dream trip is absolutely possible.”
From rolling hills to rolling wheels, from reminiscing with family to forging new memories with fellow explorers, Robin’s trip was a beautiful reminder of why we travel. And with her leading the way, your adventure is just a plan away.
